Hi there - thank you for stopping by! When I created this site, I was a 25 year old female who colledted pictures of
Yasmin Le Bon! Do you want to know why? Yes? No?
Don't really care? Well, I'll tell you anyway...
In approximately 1992/93, and after many dormant years, my childhood
infatuation with Duran Duran's Simon Le Bon had resurfaced (he
was my first major "crush" at age 10) and I found myself in total awe
of the woman who had captured his heart. This is why I emphatically
(albeit secretly) began collecting pictures of Yasmin.
This is quite funny because I have found that usually when a young girl
has a crush on a boy (or in this case, a man) they'll tear apart
any woman in his life. I found my feelings to be quite the opposite.
I thought that Yasmin was gorgeous, exotic, and she seemed to be a very
nice person, as well as a good mother. I very much admired her and
therefore I tried to imitate her style: when she lightened up her
hair, so did I; when she thinned out her eyebrows, so did I; when she cut
her long hair, so did I; when she grew it back, guess what ... so did I!
This obsession continued for a couple of years. Then Duran Duran
went away again, but my fascination with Yasmin remained. For the
past few years, though, my desire to collect every single solitary picture
of Yasmin has diminished, but if I happen to be looking through a magazine
and I spot one, I must admit that I'll still cut it out!
So here I was, after all this time, with tons of these little cut out
pictures of Mrs. Le Bon - what's a girl to do? Yes, you guessed it!
I got myself a web site and published my embarrassing little secret obsession
for the world to see - I hope you enjoy it!
3/18/2006: (I know I still love to look at photos of Yasmin and Simon, even though I haven't been diligent in updating the site. However, having rediscovered this site after a few years, I hope to add some more photographs and maintain it regularly. I know I can NEVER even hope to compare with Nancy's fabulous 'unofficial' website - but it still brings me pleasure to know that The Yasmin Le Bon Gallery is still around for Yasmin fans to surf through!) |
