This page is devoted to collecting teaching resources for assistants in lycées. If you prepare a worksheet, song lyrics, or other teaching ideas that work well with your classes, share them! Type them, then email me at lucasinfrance@yahoo.com with the file attached to your email. I will put them here and give you credit! |

Introductions: Your first session will be devoted to introducing yourself to your students. Don't speak too quickly; let them get used to your accent. To make it fun, make up two introductions and make a third the truth, ask them to guess which one is the real one. Tell them where you're from and ask what they know about that area. Make them ask questions about you, then turn the questions back at them, etc. |

Articles/Media: Current events go over well. It could be the Olympics, Peace Talks in the Middle East, or the weather even. Show them news reports in english, use articles out of magazines like Time or Newsweek. The written media will focus their attention, but the majority of the class should focus on discussion.

The "H" activity by Melodee Baines: Write the letter H on the board and ask your students to come up with as many words that begin with the letter H as possible. When you have a decent enough list, have them write a paragraph/story with as many of these words as possible. Give then 15 or 20 minutes to prepare, then have them read their story and correct their H mistakes as well as any others. After everyone has read theirs, write pairs of words on the board like "has" and "as", "had" and "add", "hat" and "at", etc. to help them learn to pronounce the H properly. |
