Bihar
is a fertile state. It is an alluvial plain with the Gangetic Valley and an incredibly
mineral rich area of fairly level high ground in the south Bihar.
The Northern plains extends from the foothills of the himalyas, few kms from south of the river
Ganges as it flows through the state from west to the east. The main language spoken is Bihari. Some of the population speak Hindi. The main occupation is agriculture. The main crops are paddy, wheat , pulses sugarcane , jute and fruits. Other than agriculture Bihar is important for minarels, coal, iron ore, bauxite, copper, and mica. sight seeing: The wildlife in Bihar is beautiful. Deer, bears, tigers and numerous species of birds, including the peacock, pheasant and wild fowl abound. The forests of Bihar yield a variety of commercial products besides the timber. One variety of tree special to this place grows here the leaves of which are used in making "beedis", a product for smoking.
