GOLDEN TRAILS LIVER TREATS |
1 lb. of liver - beef or chicken 1/2 tablespoon of garlic powder - not garlic salt 1 med. or large egg (include the shell if you want to add calcium) 2 cups of whole wheat flour (corn meal also works well here) Preheat the oven to 350F. Mix liver, egg (with or without shell) and garlic powder in blender until it is smooth like pudding. Stir and slowly add flour, approx. a 1/2 cup at a time. Soon you should have a thick batter, like cake. When you achieve the cake batter appearance, pour the mix into a greased 8 X 8 pan. Bake for approx. 30 minutes or until dry. When cool, cut into appropriate sized squares for your dog. For storage, place in air tight container, because these will go bad if left out. You can store excess in the freezer.
