So you'd like to know a little about me, huh?

Well here goes...

My name is Nanci (yep spelled with an I not a Y). I share the same name as my mother, im not sure why, you dont hear of too many daughters named after their mothers. There is one difference though, her name is spelled the normal way, with a Y.

I am 27 years old, i was born in Bridgeport Ct. in November 1972 and grew up in Oxford a small town in Connecticut (heres a map of it, if your interested)*smile*.
When i was 14 i moved to Carbondale, Pennsylvania. Which at the time i did NOT want to do. I mean i was a teen-ager in my freshman year in high school with my first serious boyfriend, why in the world would i want to leave everything id ever known to go to Pennsylvania, it may as well have been Mars! But in the end it turned out to be a wonderful thing.

I have 3 sisters my older sister Kim whos 29 and my younger sisters Kristine aged 23 and Kara 16. I also have a younger brother Derek (who is 6 years old now) I always wanted a brother my whole life, so its very hard not to be able to see him very much due to the distance in which we live. Its also kinda strange to have a daughter that is 2 1/2 years OLDER than my brother. But hey i got my brother finally. So what if it took my Dad 5 tries and 22 years...LOL.

I am a proud mother to our three beautiful girls. Ashlie, who is 9 years old and in third grade and also my babies, Isabelle and Sydney (fraternal twins), who are 4 years old. (yep they are a handfull, but oh what a blessing!) They are in preschool and loving it.

I am married and have been with my wonderful husband Wayne for about 11 years.

We are an Air Force family who live in Alaska for two years now. We moved from Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro, North Carolina, we lived there for about 2 1/2 years.

Before moving to North Carolina, we were stationed at RAF Mildenhall but lived in Newmarket (well known for its horse racing) in the county of Suffolk, England in the UK where we lived for three years and also where our twins we born. It is a beautiful country with so many wonderful, kind and sweet people.

But the place that we consider our home is the Carbondale/Honesdale area of Pennsylvania. The Scranton/WilkesBarre area for those not very farmiliar with Pa. (located in the northeast corner of the state.)

Well being a military Family, you have to be ready to pick up and move at any time, we are due to move again next summer (2001). But for now we are now in the great state of Alaska (Elmendorf AFB)! It is absolutely beautiful here (i cant imagine anyplace more so), i always said that id go anywhere in the world the Air Force wanted us to, but DID NOT want to go to Alaska...figures...hehe. But so far so good, :o) Im not crazy about the cold and snow though. And im proud to say we have just survived 2 winters here (and about to head into our 3rd). Lots of snow, its not too bad, its not wet and messy like everyplace else its so dry and doesnt cause the hassles of slush and mud since its never above freezing to melt it...LOL
But the cold is another thing, whew! We had a horrible cold spell the first January we were here, it wasnt above 0 for a couple weeks, somedays with wind chill it was nearly 50 below!!! Talk about knocking the wind out of you when you step outside your front door and the instantaniously frozen nose hairs..hehe

Its also weird driving down the roads and running into these huge moose all the time. We had heard that you can look out your window and see one looking back in at you, but i figured, yeah right...funny, maybe in the country, but heck no they are everywhere, even in the city....hehe.

My husband Wayne is thrilled to be here, he always said that this would be his dream assignment. Well hes got his wish, here we are in Alaska! Hes loving it, the first week we were here, (we got lucky enough to arrive while the salmon were spawning) we got to go salmon fishing and even caught some too (after a couple tries)...its so exciting.

Hes planning on going moose hunting in Sept....hope hes able to get one! Ill let you know how it goes :o)
