I've been searching for other Pearsalls and am glad to find this sight. I'm of African-American descent as well as my father Gurney Fields Pearsall, his father Joel George Pearsall (both from Texas) and his father Stephen Pearsall. Apparently Stephen wa
the son of a white slave owner named Shanghi and a slave woman (no name known). Shanghi had 2 children by his white wife named Jim and Elizabeth. I think Stephen and Shanghi were from North Carolina. I can't find any info on either of them or the Jim/
lizabeth Pearsalls either. Any hints?
