My dear family, friends and host families:

Today is Christmas day and I ask myself: Why is it that the more you have to tell about your life to friends and family, the harder it is to sit down at the computer and get started?

Anyway, I’m here and I’m starting.

This year was wonderful for my family and me. I started off the year with a couple of clients at my relocation business. Because of my business also I made two really nice trips to Las Vegas and New Orleans, the first one with my aunt Cristina, who’s freelance of my business, and the second one with my dad. We also gave a couple of cross-cultural training seminars between June and October.

I did well on my master’s degree this year. I have decided my thesis subject and now I’m only 1 year away from graduating.

Another wonderful thing that happened this year was the arrival of Ismael IV, my little nephew who was born on July 19th. It’s funny how a whole family can become wakko because of such a little thing. Well, not so little; Ismaelito is 5 months old and already over 9 kilos heavy!

Near to the end of the year I decided to become also part of my father’s company team. Malena, a great young lady that had worked with him for over 2 years, got married this December and, since I realized I do not have a BULK of clients, I could take her place. The job is challenging, very interesting and allows me to continue with my relocation and cross-cultural training business and my master’s degree.

This year I also started a couple of other projects. Along with a friend of mine, Vanessa, I produce and conduct a radio program the university’s radio station. The program is called "Las Cosas Simples" ("The Simple Things"), its half an hour long, it’s transmitted once a week and the idea is to talk about all of those simple things that we take for granted. The songs, information and quotes we use in each program have the same subject in common. We’ve had programs about subjects such as smiling, laughter, the sky, the sense of sight, the music, etc.

Vanessa graduated this semester and left (she’s from another state in Mexico), so I have to find someone that can help me this following year. I’m already missing my friend…

AAAAAAAANNNNDDDD….

Of course you all knew about my boyfriend Toño. Well, this year, thank God, our relationship has grown stronger and stronger, and this month Toño proposed to me. I’m happy to announce that your little Mexican friend is getting married next year, on December 15th.

The Lord keeps being very, very, VERY generous to my family and I, and I’m most grateful towards him for filling my life with blessings, great experiences and wonderful friends such as you.

Receive my best wishes for a year full of the best of the best, and my warm desire of seeing you again sometime, some place…

In the meantime, take care and God bless you.

Love:
