ADOPTEE & BIRTHPARENT RESOURCES This page is dedicated to Terrie, My
husband's birthmother. This topic strikes right at home with my family. My husband is a fellow adoptee. He had been searching for his birth mother for over 7 years when they were reunited. My husband, Mike and me had been searching the internet for any kind of trace that she had left behind. We had come across many adoption/reunion sites, and placed his story and names on them. I'll tell ya, their names were splattered all over the net. Well, one day we get this e-mail from a really sweet person named Diane. She had found some information. THE INFORMATION EVERYBODY WANTS! She had information about Terrie, and names and birthdays of siblings! He had 2 brothers, Steven & Kevin, and 1 sister, Melissa. Talk about extatic! He was raised as an only child and the thought of having siblings to "break in like a big bro" was even more exiting than he could imagine. The next thing I know, Mike is bouncing around the house trying to think of what to do now. Well, we called almost everybody in the world with the same last name, with of course...no luck. Just as we were down to our last couple of numbers, we finally got a break. Mike was lucky enough to land a spot on the Sally Jessee Raphael Show to make a plea for his birth mother to contact him. International Locators had found her!!!! Of course, she was there to suprise him, and they hit it off right from the beginning. I have never seen him happier, now that he has his mom. The one person that he had been missing for over 30 years now is just a phone call away. Not everybody needs to go on national
television to find their lost loved one though. Remember the phone numbers I was talking about? Her number was one of them, and she had just changed it; so it CAN HAPPEN!! It's trully
amazing all of the resources on the internet. Here's some of the
ones we used to aid in our search, but before you do anything, first register with the International Soundex Reunion Registry. You never know, the person your looking for might be registered there, and if so, they will reunite yall. If you want someone else do the searching, or get a big start with a kit, I HIGHLY RECOMEND INTERNATIONAL LOCATORS These guys know what they're doing! Best in the business!
