Things to help with panic/anxiety

Think positive thoughts, I can instead of I can't.  When you find your mind overwhelmed with negative thoughts shout "stop" .  And replace the thought with a positive thought. examples  negative thought "I can't go to the store I might panic" say "stop" and replace with positive thought "I can go in the store I will be ok."  If your thoughts are about being sick.. remember it is ok and that everyone gets sick at sometime

Learn and use relaxation techniques.  Get a relaxation tape and take time out everyday for yourself.  Find a quiet place in your home and make it yours.  Practice with this tape every day for at least 20 minutes.  Leave the rest of the world behind.  Your body  and mind will benefit from "your" time. It can be a mini-vacation from the stresses and hassles of the world around us.

Learn to enjoy music again.  With 2 children I found that the tv was always on.  Noisy chatter all the time.  When you play music you can chose to hear relaxing or  uplifting music or maybe dancing music.  I especially like to listen to "Hero" by Mariah Carey.  It was recommended to me by a friend for all the hero's out in the world who deal with panic attacks alot. Take a chance and listen to music it restores you mind.

Do not fight the panic attack.  Learn to relax, take deep calming breathes.  say stop and change the state of  your thoughts.  Think positive thoughts.  Occupy yourself with some  mundane task. It is a way to use all the extra enenrgy.  Remember panic attacks do not physically last to long, it is the thoughts the make them last.
