Cross Stitch Squares for Charity

I started working with charities in 2001.

I work with several groups:

Operation Teddy Bear -- raffles quilts to raise money for cancer research

http://www.operation-teddy-bear.on.ca

Love Quilts to Make a Child Smile

-- quilts actually go to the child, a child who has been diagnosed with a terminal/potentially terminal illness/disease

Montana Binky Patrol -- quilts and afghans are made for abused children, children in homeless shelters and premie infants

http://communities.msn.com/BinkyPatrolofMontana&naventryid=100

Angel Afghan Project -- provides angel themed afghans to families with premie babies

My 1st square was made for Operation Teddy Bear

It is a "Cherished Teddy", Nora from Norway

My 2nd square was made for Andrew's Memorial Quilt (Love Quilts to Make a Child Smile),
Andrew passed away before it was finished, the quilt goes to the family in his memory. Andrew's theme was Teddy Bears or Animals wearing overalls, and they asked to add a heart and a cross to the pattern

It is a "Cherished Teddy", The Fireman

My 3rd square was also made for Andrew's Memorial Quilt (Love Quilts to Make a Child Smile), this time using the other part of his theme, an animal in overalls

It is a "Cherished Teddy", Fall

My 4th square was made for Jody's quilt (Love Quilts to Make a Child Smile)

I modified the pattern to fit the required size. Jody's theme was race cars and firetrucks

My 5th square was made for a group effort for Operation Teddy Bear. One of the internet club I belong to all got together and each person picked a different Ellen Maurer-Stroh "baby" pattern to do.

My 6th and 7th squares were made for John's quilt (Love Quilts to Make a Child Smile)

His theme is dogs. John is the one on the left in the picture above.

It is nice to be able to contribute to such worthy causes. I have been addicted to cross stitch for many years and now I have a place for them to go.

This square was made for a quilt that will be made for the founder of AAP (Angel Afghan Project). It is a surprise, so if you know him, don't tell, ok? thanks

2002 kids and their squares
