A Stupid Story
One time I was walking down the road, just minding my own business, and all of a sudden, a great big rhinoceros jumped out in front of me. At first I was scared. I screamed. I thought I would run away, because, hey, a great big rhinoceros with a large pointy horn was coming towards me. But he said, "Wait! Don't run, I just need directions."
There was something gentle about the great beast, so I decided to stay. Not to mention the fact that having a rhinoceros talk to you has to be a once-in-a-lifetime experience. So I decided to stay. We talked for a little while, and then he asked directions to the nearest J. C. Penney's. I told him how to get to the mall, and how to get to the store. He thanked me and disappeared into the hazy morning.
I pondered why a rhinoceros would go to J. C. Penney's. I contemplated what J. C. Penney's would do when a great big rhinoceros with a pointy horn came into the building. I didn't understand. But in our short time together, I knew I had grown attached to him. I knew I would never forget that gentle giant, that rhinoceros in the mist.
