To Receive Christ as your Savior:
Receiving Jesus as your Savior is simple. However, you must be honest, this is no time to try to deceive yourself because of pride. You must:
- Accept the fact that you are a sinner. Romans 3:23 says, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." Whether you have been a good person, or a bad person, you must ultimately realize this.
- Believe that Jesus Christ died so that you could freed from sin. "Jesus saith unto him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." -John 14:6. This means that Jesus is the only way to be saved. You've got to realize that you need Jesus, and that He can and will save you.
- Confess your sins. "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raise Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." -Romans 10:9. Just talk to Jesus. He's listening to your pure-hearted prayer. He wants to save you, and to be your friend, but you've got to ask Him.
- Ask Jesus to come live in your heart. Just tell Jesus that you can't do it on your own anymore, and you want Him to come and live in you.
Here is a suggested prayer:
Dear Jesus, I know that I have sinned, and that I'm a sinner. I believe that you truly do love me, and that you loved me so much that You died for me so that I could live. I'm sorry for all my sins, and I turn my back on my old sinful lifestyle. From now on, I will do my best to serve you with my whole heart, because You love me so much. I thank You Jesus for saving my soul, and I praise and worship You for Your great love and mercy. Thank You. Amen.
Now just spend some time talking to your new savior and the best friend you will ever meet. I am eager to hear from you if you accepted Christ as your Savior, and you can email me and tell me. Allow me to be the first to welcome you to the body of Christ, and I welcome you as my new brother or sister in Christ.
