Kids-in-Crisis Webring Setup Instructions
|
To set up the webring on your website you need to insert some HTML code into your webpage where you want it to appear. You need to replace a few bits of dummy text with your personal RingSite information and you also need to copy the GIF images sadgirl.gif and sadboy.gif into the same directry where you have the page that will contain the webring.
Follow These Steps to setup the webring
Setup Step 1 -
You are going to need your webring 'Site ID number' which was given when you applied to join or from the email that was sent to you when you submited the application form. Find your webring 'Site ID' number (this will be a number like 06 or 11 or another number) and keep it handy.
Setup Step 2 -
Copy the HTML code from the window below into your web page.
Setup Step 3 -
Now you need to look at the HTML code you just pasted and replace --mail-- with your email address, replace --name-- with your own name, and replace --id-- with your webring 'Site ID' number (there are 4 --id-- 's to replace).
Setup Step 4 -
Now copy each of the two GIF images below into the same directry as your page containing the webring is in (these files were sent to you with your email but you can grab them from here also).
To copy the files you can EITHER...
Place your mouse over a picture, press the right mouse button and click 'save picture as'
OR
Point the mouse at the picture's file name, press the right mouse button and choose 'save target as'.
Setup Step 5 -
Now you have completed the webring setup on your site please email the webring RingMaster (Andrew), who will check your site and add you to the webring.
Please note that until the ringmaster has added your site to the ring the webring links on your page will not work correctly, even though they are set up properly.
If you have any problems getting setup please email the RingMaster who will be glad to help.
