Greetings Saints - Class of '58! Just a little letter to update you on the lifestyle of Butch (Fast Eddie). No I did not have that name at JHS. For some reason that name was given to me by a friend at the Eagle Lodge in Mountain View, CA. So here goes: I live in Red Bluff, California which is 135 miles north of Sacramento at the base of Mount Shasta. Carmen (my wife of almost 40 years) and I live about 4 miles out of town in the foothills. (3 miles from the Sacramento River, lots of fishing!!) We are both retired and enjoying the good life after from Silicon Valley (San Jose) in August of 1995. My oldest daughter, Debbie and two granddaughters, Kendra 15 and Danielle 14, live across the road from us. They came up to visit and agreed that this is God's country. The city of Red Bluff is only 13,000 population. My youngest daughter Dena, husband Erykk and granddaughter Serena (1 year) live in Colorado Springs - he is in the Army at Ft. Carson. She and Serena are here at this writing on a visit . We are going to Reno this weekend. I like to gamble so Carmen keeps a close eye on me - I don't know why. I belong to both the Elks and the Eagles Lodges. (I am a Past Worthy President of the Eagles Lodge) I was even Chaplain and Vice President...Carmen could handle me being Chaplain, but being Vice-president, I told her I was in charge of vise. But she knew better. At Christmas time this last year, we all met in Las Vegas for the holidays. I lucked out and hit a royal flush for $1000 so paid for all expenses. It happened on Christmas Day, - somebody up there likes me. Carmen and I both worked for GTE Government Systems in Mountain View, California for the last 20 years before retirement. Carmen graduated from Radford High (1960) in Honolulu, Hawaii. So from 1986 thru 1991 we took two trips a year vacation to Waikiki, but couldn't afford to live there, DARN! We lived in El Paso, Texas for two and a half years (72 thru 74). I worked for Sylvania Elect, which became GTE Government Systems (and is now General Dynamics), but economy cutbacks sent us back up to San Jose. If all goes well, I hope to see all of you at the June Alumni Picnic, but I need more information. Thanks to Del C. I now have Jack B's current email and phone no. I called Jack and now we are again keeping in touch. When we both lived in the Bay Area we had a lot of great times. Just before I was to send this e-mail I received a call from Del C.. We had a great conversation catching up on the good old days. Sorry I used the word old . I want to thank Del C. and Nancy Bower (St. Jeff) for responding to my e-mail. I am hoping more of my classmates do the same as well as other JHS alumni. Signing off for now, your classmate Butch. 58 WAS GREAT Thanks Butch! Great to hear from you. We were beginning to think we would never find you! Since you mentioned gambling, this crazy page border is supposed to look sorta, kinda, like the bright lights of the casinos....or something. J
