Here is an excerpt from a letter from Cynthia: This is our dog, Maia, an Alaskan Malamute. She keeps me young by demanding walks in our park. We live near a beautiful wooded park with Carousel, mini golf, fishing on river, ducks, geese & assorted wildlife, waterfall, etc. etc. Come see us here in our cottage by the creek! Northern Illinois is more like Wisconsin & very scenic - lots of State parks in a 30 mile radius. Besides walking with Maia in the park, I teach preschool at the YWCA (have for 20+ years!) Beats Jr. high where I was before! I've just finished playing summer concerts (flute) with our City Concert Band. That's always fun and keeps me in musical shape, along with my eight young flute students. I also teach French lessons here at home to some eager young grade schoolers. I'm Secretary Treasurer of Local 34 of American Federation of Musicians and Campaign Chairman for our Community Concert Assn., which bring live professional musical groups for concerts each year. Both these tasks require lots of busy work - bookkeeping etc., but are fun and I have lots of good, musical friends! Tom works at Vitner's - a potato chip factory. He's hoping to retire soon. We don't know what pursuits he'll take up when he has some leisure time. Our son, Dan, recently moved to Pontiac, IL, where he works for Caterpillar - finally using what he learned for his Manufacturing/Industrial Technology degree at ISU. Thanks for writing, Cynthia! The area where you live sounds absolutely idyllic! Cynthia's background music is "The Campbells are Coming" The page background is the Campbell plaid. Couldn't resist that either. |
