In order to wind up in the Levitical Priesthood, as an Elder of Israel, in the House of Israel (what other forms of religious idealogy call a minister or reverend) I had to be encompassed with an humble spirit (St. John 13:1-8) and a peaceful attitude (St. John 20:21-22 using the Holy Bible as my guide). I had to be taught meditation through the spirit of prophecy, by a prophet, who proclaimed "Thus saith the Lord", that inorder to fulfill my mission in life on this mundane plane, I must have a reverence for God, a respect for character and a yearning for wisdom. Thus I became a co-worker in the spiritual soul clinic of the Cosmic Divinity.

The first drop of water which begins my water ford is John A. Godfrey who was my paternal grandfather, (believed to be born in Haiti, but came to the U.S.A., date not known, however he was according to the 1900 census) living in Dorchester county, Dorchester, SC, and was listed as being 60 years of age in 1900 which states that he was born April 1840. He married my paternal grandmother, Azalee (Jenkins) Godfrey in 1898, my grandmother was born December 1877 in Dorchester county,Dorcester South Carolina. Azalee had a daughter named Thomasina Rishbur, (my aunt) born in Dorchester county, Dorchester,SC, April 1897. John and Azalee next had a daughter born to their matrimonial joining and named her Naomi Godfrey the first child born to the wedded couple, (my aunt) who was born in Dorchester county, Dorchester,SC, December 1899. The next child born to this union was Marcella Godfrey, (my aunt) born St. James Goose Creek township (county) Summerville,SC,1903. The next child born to this union was Norman Godfrey (my uncle) born in St. James Goose Creek township (county) Summerville, SC, 1 April 1904. The next child born to this union was Alvin Godfrey (my father) born in St. James Goose Creek township (county) Summerville, SC, 23 December 1908. The next child born to this union was John Godfrey (my uncle) born in St. James Goose Creek township (county) Summerville, SC, 1912.

After the death of John A.Godfrey (circa 1913/1914) Azalee married James Brisbane who was born in South Carolina, 1873 (circa 1913-1915) and they had a son James Brisbane Jr. (my uncle) born 1915 in St. James Goose Creek township (county) Summerville, SC. Thus the water begins to accumilate in my family fountain of living water, and fills more and more my ancestral pond of genealogy.

My ancestrial pond is filled with Richard Jenkins, born July 1855, and Christina Jenkins born 1857, the father and mother of Azalee Jenkins ( Godfrey, Brisbane ), born December 1877. Azalee Jenkins married John A. Godfrey, (deceased ) and her second husband was James Brisbane ( both now deceased ), children: Thomasina Jenkins, Naomi Godfrey, Marcella Godfrey, Norman Godfrey, Alvin Godfrey, John Godfrey and James Brisbane Jr.

Also to the union of Richard and Christina Jenkins, was born Norman Jenkins in February 1887, his spouse was Ercell Jenkins, he married again to Hattie Jenkins (all deceased). Frances Jenkins (Bryant, spouse name unknown) born June 1891, children: Lillian, Chester and Vivian.

Isabell Jenkins (Morris) born August 1895, spouse was Isaac Morris, married second spouse Charles? ( last name unknown at present ).

The first child born to the Godfrey family was ( Naomi Godfrey ) Major whose spouse was Simon Major, children: Alonzo Major, Marcella Major, George Major, Theresa Major, Vivian Major and (Godfrey Major?).

The next child was Marcella Godfrey Goodwin (deceased) spouse (name unknown at present), child: Edward (Goodwin?).

The next child was Norman Godfrey, born 4 April 1904, spouse Lillian Clark Godfrey, born 15 April 1915, child: Carmen Godfrey born 25 July 1942.

The next child born was Alvin Godfrey born 23 December 1908, spouse Rebecca Brown Godfrey born 14 December 1911, children: Alvin Godfrey Jr., born 17 April 1930 and Norman Leroy Godfrey born 17 December 1932 (deceased).
