Their son James, born about 1758 in Amherst, Virginia and died 10 September 1819 in Rutherford County, Tennessee, married Euphan Tate 31 May 1781, she died in December of 1786 in Rutherford County, Tennessee. James and Euphan had a son named Henry Tate, who was born 6 December 1786 in Campbell County, Virginia and died 19 April 1866 in Rutherford County, Tennessee. Henry married Nancy Kavanaugh, the daughter of Dr. Charles Kavanaugh, their son was Lindsey Powell, who was born 17 August 1815 and died 4 January 1890 in Chapel Hill, Texas. Lindsey married Mary W. Travis, who was

Edward T. Rucker, the son of Rev. Lindsey Powell and Mary W. Travis Rucker, was born in 1841 at Wash on Brazos, Washington County, Texas and died 5 May 1907 in Runnels, Ballenger County, Texas. Edward married Kathrine Pendleton Ludlow 28 November 1868
in Belton, Bell County, Texas. Kathrine, the daughter of Gen. Benjamin Anstin Ludlow and Martha Ann Richards, died 16 Feb 1937 in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri. Their children are:

He married Ruby Bauknight, the daughter of Rufus Barry and Margaret Edwards Trice Bauknight, 22 Oct 1898 in Belton, Bell County, Texas. Rufus Capers, the son of Maxwell Lee and Ruby Bauknight Rucker, was born 24 May 1910 in Jennings, Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana, he died 11 November 1998 in Chico, Butte County, California. He married Clara Victoria Marchus, the daughter of Amos Smith and Mima Anna Hepler, 23 Jan 1932 in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois at the First Presbyterian Church. Clara was born 8 Nov 1909 in Preston on Lees, Eaglescliff, England and died 20 Aug 1998 in Chico, Butte County, California. Both were cremated and their ashes scattered together in the rose gardens of the Neptune Society at Santa Rosa, California. Rufus Capers was a physician, practicing dermatology in Chico, California from 1952 until 1990. He was a Clinical Associate Professor of Dermatology at Stanford University Medical School and taught there for 30 years. He served as President of the Pacific Dermatologic Association in 1983.
