Cake Decorating
I picked up cake decorating when I was in my teens. I started out doing cakes for birthdays, anniversaries and such and I'll tell ya...in my teens, they were pretty darn awful cakes. =)
I've had a bit more practice since then, so hopefully what you'll see below, you won't consider too awful.
I would like to be able to do more cake decorating, but with 2 kids, 3 cats and a full time job, I just don't have the time. Now I only do wedding cakes for very special occasions. Below are two of the wedding cakes that I have done.
I made this cake for my sister's wedding. It has a fountain in the middle, and real flowers in it, on it, and surrounding it. She also chose to have her inlaw's bride and groom on the top of it. All in all, I think she was pleased with the finished product.
And this is my own wedding cake. It is completely white, except for the tiny leaves. It is covered with roses and musical cherubs. And before you ask, no, it's not real. =) Because it was for my own wedding, I had to make it a couple weeks ahead of time, what with everything else that weddings entail, so I chose to make it styrofoam.
