Hello there! God is wonderful in his grace and mercy and everlasting PATIENCE with us! I wanted to touch base with you all as I have been so eager to share all the negatives with you. This should be a welcome change! Yesterday we attended the Evangelical Church again and the message was from Psalm 103. Bless the Lord, O my soul and all that is within me bless His holy Name. Don't forget all the blessings that God has given to you. As I listened God truly spoke to my heart and I received an amazing peace within me telling me that I can do this. I can stay here in St. Lucia. He reminded me that every single place that I have lived there has been good and bad so why should this place be any different? As I have spent the last month or so complaining about my horrible lot in life this hit me hard. God said this earlier and I listened but not with my whole heart and the message withered in the rocky soil of my heart. I hear His words now. I am truly blessed! My father-in-law has been telling me this in various ways as well. We seem to have a new church family here that we are meeting slowly (it looks like we are settling in at the Evangelical Church). We had lunch after service with the pastor and his family and then spent quite a bit of time chatting with him. We have another invitation for next week from someone else and we are looking at ways that we can join in ministry with them. We spent a few days last week before my revelation seriously looking at how can we possibly get back to Metlakatla. We can't. Not in the way we want. We both are feeling Metlakatla fade into the background. Slowly. We learned a lot there and love what we could accomplish there in the church and in the community. We miss our friends terribly. At this time God has another plan for us. We don't know what it is. So far it is to be in St. Lucia this winter and next winter and the summers on Mackinac Island. We don't know after that. Keep us in prayer. Now, for those of you who truly know what a perfectionist-procrastinator I am I have decided to work on *me* while I am here in St. Lucia. I have never kept my home as clean as I would like it and I think it is time to start improving myself in ALL areas of my life. To this end I have joined the ranks of the Fly Lady. I am putting in my daily schedule a time of Bible reading where the generic schedule makes room for meditation. Also a time of prayer each evening as both my prayer life and my Bible reading are severely anemic and almost dead! I love you all so much and I pray that we continue to uplift one another daily.
