Greetings from Wichita, Kansas (Sunday, March 22, 2009).
- Temperatures have been as high as the mid-70°F range during the day and the mid-50°F range during the night. Again, not much rain for 2009.
-Tamara has accepted a partial cross country/track scholarship to attend Pittsburg State in southeast Kansas for the coming 2009-2010 school year. She is so excited to get to go to Pitt State where some of your friends are now going and where a few of her senior class friends will be going. The spring track season has started and a meet is coming up this week. Tamara will be running in the 400 metre, 800 metre, and 4x400 or 4x-800 metre relay races as well as compete in the triple jump.
- Alek completed his Special Olympic basketball season going 7-0. His team won the Gold at the Regional Tournament and the Gold at the State Tournament this past weekend in Hays. Our team was moved up from a Level 4 to a Level 3 and easily won three games 30-8, 24-8, and 20-10. He also got 4th place in the Skills Competition (shooting, passing, & dribbling for time) and Bronze in the Speed Dribbling Completion with 116 dribbles in 60 seconds. Now track starts in a week and goes until early June.
