Jonathan Edwards was a Puritan minister in the 1700's.  He was a revival preacher.  Many people would fall to their knees and cry for their sins.  He also was a pulpit preacher and scientist.  A great man with a great heart.
(Click on Jonathan to go somewhere else-- Come back though!)
Kansas is beautiful.  In the Southeast corner even, there are waterfalls!

You have to become a member of Yahoo! Clubs, as well as a member of my club to see everything and have all the features available to you.
Have you sung God's Hymnal, the book of Psalms?  Well, here are links to some Psalms.  I will post the lyrics to the Scottish Psalter of 1650 or the Book of Psalms for Singing with a tune to go along with them. By the way, I got the Psalm selections from the link on the right of this box.  Now, to those selected Psalms:

Psalm 1            Psalm 103

Psalm 29          Psalm 128

Psalm 46          Psalm 146

Psalm 51

WHO IS THE NUT BEHIND THIS WEBSITE?

I am Roy Waggoner and I live in Kansas.  I like the state; it is not like the stereotypes.  I am interested in Christian Theology (mostly Calvinism), weather, other science, and early American history-- meaning up to 1776.  I don't have many hobbies, but they include going on the internet, playing computer games, reading, watching tv, listening to music, sleeping in-- Is that a hobby?!, walking my dog, and riding my bike-- though I hardly ever do that anymore.  I am 18 and go to high school as a senior.  My favorite food would have to be chocolate ice cream, followed by pizza and then strawberry shortcake.  My music interest is Contemporary Christian.  I have a brother and sister, both older.  I am involved in the high school newspaper and have an interest in journalism.  See the high school paper's online edition above-- I have it linked.  I am active in the local church of the Presbyterian Church (USA), but am in the process of joining the Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America.  Both churches have websites listed above.
Some Quotes:
"Alas!  And did my savior bleed?  And did my sovereign die?  Would he devote that sacred head for such a worm as I?  Was is for the crimes that I have done He groaned upon the tree?  Amazing pity!  Grace unknown!  And love beyond degree!"------ Isaac Watts (1707)
"I have my own private opinion that there is no such thing as preaching Christ and Him crucified unless we preach what is nowadays called Calvinism.  It is a nickname to call it Calvinism; Calvinism is the Gospel and nothing else.  I do not believe we can preach the Gospel....unless we preach the sovereignty of God in his dispensation of grace; nor unless we exalt the electing, unchangeable, eternal, immutable, conquering love of Jehovah.  Nor do I think we can preach the Gospel unless we base it upon the special and particular redemption of his elect and chosen people which Christ wrought out upon the cross; nor can I comprehend the Gospel which allows saints to fall away after they are called."-----Charles Haddon Spurgeon, "A Defense of Calvinism"
Commentary on the Pledge of Allegiance
By Red Skelton

I---- Me; an individual; a committee of one.
Pledge----  Dedicate all of my worldly goods to give without self-pity.
Allegiance---- My love and my devotion.
To the Flag---- Our standard; Old Glory ; a symbol of Freedom; wherever she waves there is respect, because your loyalty has given her a dignity that shouts, Freedom is everybody's job.
United----  That means that we have all come together.
States---- Individual communities that have united into forty-eight great states. Forty-eight individual communities with pride and dignity and purpose. All divided with imaginary boundaries, yet united to a common purpose, and that is love for country.
And to the Republic---- Republic--a state in which sovereign power is invested in representatives chosen by the people to govern. And government is the people; and it's from the people to the leaders, not from the leaders to the people.
For which it stands

One Nation----  One Nation--meaning, so blessed by God.
Indivisible---- Incapable of being divided.
With Liberty---- Which is Freedom; the right of power to live one's own life, without threats, fear, or some sort of retaliation.
And Justice---- The principle, or qualities, of dealing fairly with others.
For All----  For All--which means, boys and girls, it's as much your country as it is mine.

And now, boys and girls, let me hear you recite the Pledge of Allegiance:
I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic, for which it stands; one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.

Since I was a small boy, two states have been added to our country, and two words have been added to the Pledge of Allegiance:
"Under God."; Wouldn't it be a pity if someone said that is a prayer, and that would be eliminated from schools, too?

Red Skelton
