Welcome to Xanadu Farms!  We raise llamas & alpacas, but also have some miniature donkeys, Rottweillers, and several cats.

My husband Brant works in the film industry, and I (Trudy) teach television production.

Our daughters, Carly and Shannon, are our farm managers and our chief showpeople.  They've spent a lot of time and energy training their llamas, and it shows in the number of awards they've brought home over the past few years.

OUR HERDSIRES

We are tremendously proud of these boys - the backbone of our breeding program here at Xanadu Farms.  Each of these males was chosen for personality, looks and the ability to pass on those traits to their offspring.  After you've seen our crias, I think you'll agree that we've chosen wisely!

LLAMAS

PF Carlos  - our primary herdsire, Carlos has given us some incredible offspring in the past years. He has it all - personality, bone structure, pinto colouring, fibre, ears, and multiple grand championship trophies to prove it.  Carlos' sire, VV's Butch Casidy, comes from the U.S. herd of Dennis Weaver.  Carlos has improved on every female that he has been bred to.
Hughes Rising Starr - we are very grateful to Feni Llamas for allowing us to purchase Hughes Rising Starr, the only Canadian owned son of the legendary Senor Wenses.  Hughie is a true black, and he has thrown true blacks.  All his crias have fibre with incredible luster and crimp.  Many of his offspring have been winners in the showring, with several going on to grand championships.

Frosted Flakes  - our newest acquisition is nothing short of extraordinary!
This Crazy Mountain Man son is big, bold and beautiful.  From his banana ears, dripping with fibre to his heavy boned legs, he is truly something to behold.  We were struck dumb the first time we saw him, and we knew we had to buy him before someone else did!  We also bought two of his sons, who have inherited Daddy's ropy, crimpy ivory coloured fibre, and his tremendous personality.  Frosted Flakes greets us with a hum every day.  He is a sweetheart!
ALPACAS

Mini Me- Mini is the cutest alpaca in the world.  His cinammon fibre is outstanding, and he is the most personable alpaca we have ever encountered.  His Chilean bloodlines are unique.  Mini Me took home first place in his class at Agrifair 2000.  He went on to be named Grand Champion Maturity Male Alpaca at the West Coast Lama Breeders Sweepstakes 2000, and his fleece won first place in the International Fleece Competition for coloured alpacas.  Mini is a gem!
Long John Silver - John is a beautiful chocolate brown Chilean alpaca with fabulous, lustrous fibre and tremendous crimp.  He is gentle, and has a very nice personality.
