This was the first big get-together, but it almost didn't happen. We started off with so many people but for various reasons, it dwindled down to Bauer and her brother Erik, Breezn and his aunt Rhonda, and me! Cleva joined us on Sunday but Bree and Rhonda had left by then. We went to a baseball game on Friday night, between the Pirates and the Reds. Then Saturday we hit Kennywood. The pictures tell the story....

We originally took this picture for Skinnygirl, who along with Bauer swore to us in java that she was from the cobblestone streets of Quebec. In hindsight, it was a sign of things to come with Bauer and her ex-coeur, Chucky!

We went on a really old, rickety roller coaster. It was Bauer's first time and she looks a bit apprehensive! Here, we see her with her brother Erik.

But she comes through with flying colours!

Now onto the scary stuff! Here we see Bauer with Rhonda, Breezn's aunt. We are about to get soaked.....fasten your seatbelts!

The site of the waterfall cause Bauer to chant..."it always happens to me, always, always"!! We'll never be dry again, because...

After that, we needed a look in the mirror to fix our hair. I think this was the first time Bauer looked in the mirror and didn't say she thought her (__)__) was huge!!

After a while, Bauer and I could no longer contain ourselves. We threw ourselves at Cowboy Joe. And I've heard through the grapevine that the two have been dating behind my back!

Bree and I decided to brave the ferris wheel after wolfing down the world's best pretzels. I was terrified as the ferris wheel loaded other passengers. When we were at the top, we could almost see Toronto!

A wave from Bauer as we are about to get soaked AGAIN! And man it was cold! We were all in the same row on this ride, which was a big boat called the Pittsburgh Plunge and goes down a steep ramp. When it hits the bottom, it causes a huge tidal wave. Because the boat has come to an almost complete stop, there is no avoiding the water. Good thing this was a waterproof camera!

Here we are, drying off a bit. One last shot before we leave Kennywood...

On our last stop, we had a visit with Cleva at a local mall. We had lunch and spent a couple of hours shopping.

But all good things must come to an end. One final look at downtown Pittsburgh and the beautiful PPG building, a.k.a. the Glass Castle! By the way, I didn't take this picture but I wish I had!
