This is a picture of pottery made by a Tewa/Hopi potter, Dawn Navasie, from clay taken from the ancestral clay beds at her Hopi homeland in northern Arizona.

UPDATE: MAY 2001:

These are kachina dolls made by Kevin Pochoema from the roots of cottonwood trees. A kachina is a supernatural ancestral spirit. Masked dancers impersonate these spirits at certain rites and these dolls represent those dancers.

This is a picture of Anasazi ruins that we took while on vacation with our boys. If you are interested in seeing ruins like this firsthand, Canyon de Chelly (in Arizona), Mesa Verde (in Colorado)and Chaco Canyon (in New Mexico) are really great places to visit.
