| December, a few days before Christmas: | Around 5 weeks | Took a pregnancy test and it is POSITIVE! |
| January 3rd | 7 wks 1 day | First meeting with the new midwife. Karen was awesome! She answered all of our questions and put us at ease with her years of knowledge. I already can't wait for my 1st homebirth! |
| February 7th | 12 wks 1 day | First midwife appt. She spends about an hour with Jason and I, going over our health history, learning a bit more about us as a family, talking to the kids, etc. She finds the heartbeat, it's in the 160's. I am 1lb under my "starting weight" My morning sickness is kiling me. I hope it's over soon! |
| March 7th | 16 wks 1 day | Another appt. with the midwife. I have lost another 3 lbs, putting me 4 lbs under. I am finally out of the morning sickness stage so I should start putting on weight. She finds the hearttones again; they run 145-153. She sets me up for my ultrasound! |
| April 4th | 20 wks 1 day | The big day is here! We're going to find out if "it" is a "he" or a "she" After checking around at all the organs and doing her measurements, then u/s tech tells me to go empty my bladder, than perhaps that will make the baby move into a position so we can tell the sex. Sure enough, I hop back on the table and she has perfect aim with her little wand. And a GIRL it is!! I think Jason is a little disappointed, although I promise him a male dog lies in the future somewhere to even out the genders in our house some. We also make a quick stop by the midwife's again. I've gained 5lbs, putting me 1lb over my beginning weight. THe hearttones are at 154-160, and my uterus is measuring right at my belly button :o) |
| April 27th | 23 wks / 3 days | Another appointment before I go out of town for my sister's wedding. I have gained another 5 lbs, making my total thus far 6lbs. Hearttones were in the 150's, and my uterus is measuring 25 cms. Jason and I are having a lot of discussion about names for this little girl, and I think I am finally convincing him to agree with me, LOL. I want to name her Faith. I also want to include the name Emma, which was my father's mother's name. |
| May 25th | 27 wks / 6 days | I'm back from my midwife appointment and everything went great!! I got there and weighed myself and checked my urine. I gained 4 lbs this month (total of 10lbs so far) and the urine was fine. My glucose was fine and she said my iron has dropped a little but not enough for concern. We heard the heartbeat loud and clear, but only after she had to chase the baby around. Every time she put the doppler on her, she would kick/hit at it, then move away, it was too cute! Oh, she also gave me a copy of my u/s results I had done back at 20 weeks. This baby has some loooong legs!! Everything else measured 20 weeks 2 days, but the femur measured 21 weeks 6 days LOL She measured my uterus and it was 28cm, right where it should be :o) I'm really enjoying this pregnancy so far... the morning sickness seemed never ending, but it did eventually end. I guess I'm in the "honeymoon" stage now. |
| June 8th | 29 wks / 6 days | I am still feeling great!! Weight was up 3lbs, making for a total of 13lbs. Hearttones were 140-154. I measured 32 weeks. Destiny and Jesse got into a fight over the beanbag babies she has in her office, lol, but besides that, it was a pretty uneventful appt. |
| June 29th | 32 wks / 6 days | No weight gain! YAY! LOL... Gracie got to help Karen find the heartbeat, which she was excited about. I measured 33 weeks, and everything looked great. Oh, and we FINALLY have settled on a name! Faith Emma Lynn :o) |
