About the DAR~

The National Society, Daughters of the American Revolution was founded in Washington, D.C. on October 11, 1890. Today, the non-profit, non-political Society has more than 170,000 members and some 3,000 chapters across the United States and around the world, dedicated to pursuing our three objectives of Historic Preservation, Promotion of Education, and Patriotic Endeavor.

Membership Requirements-

We welcome any woman who is no less than eighteen years of age and who can prove lineal, bloodline descent from an ancestor who aided in achieving American Independence during the period between 19 April 1775 and 26 November 1783. She must provide documentation for each statement of birth, marriage, and death.

Members between the ages of 18 and 35 are Junior Members. Junior members are the future of DAR. A very important function of a Junior member is that of a Page at the various state meetings and the state convention as well as Continental Congress.
