A very sad gray and rainy day is the best time for a bubble bath. What better way to make yourself feel happy especially in this beautiful bathroom. I always wondered why Grama had made such a fuss over this one room.
The only things around the tub that have stayed the same are the mirror, and the pink birds.
The chaise lounge is the same, that's where Grama would dry me off when I was done with my bath or tell me a story. I always thought the flowers were real, but Grama told me they were made of silk. She said " If they were real, they would die and fall all over the floor and the tub."
When I was a child I would fill the tub with bubbles and play that I was a princess on a cloud, or pat the bubbles all over my face to play that I was a clown. It was always sad, when the bubbles would go away.
Now that I am grown, I lay there while soft music plays, and I remember back to when I was little. My memories sometimes are like watching a movie. I can see wonderful things, like riding a bike with Grama through the park while squirrels romp over the grass. I can see having a hot dog on a stick while mustard runs down my arms as I eat it. I can see hunting seashells on the beach with my Grama or having Ice Cream sundaes at the Sweet Shoppe. I can see us sailing on the clear blue lake in the country, or riding horseback in the woods, or running on the paths between the trees.
Thank you Grama for this special room to take a bubble bath in and to have wonderful memories. Like I said, a very sad rainy day is the best time for a bubble bath.
