The Throw Together Picture.
I was home from school with a bad cold and sore throat and was tired of doing nothing but watching T.V.
Gramabear had come to visit with me.
"Well I have something I think you would like to do." she said. I noticed she had the treasure bag with her.
" What do you have in the treasure bag?" Gramabear took out a big box and opened it up. It had all kinds of pictures
she and I had clipped from magazines, next she took out a big piece of cardboard, glue and tape.
" We are going to make a throw together picture to put on the wall." Gramabear said.
"First we must decide what kind of a picture. I have flowers, houses, birds ,
butterflies ,animals , cars , buildings or would you rather make a special one for Momma Bear's birthday?"
"Oh yes! we must make one for Momma bears birthday," I said , "but what pictures will we use?"
Gramabear then took out a smaller box from the treasure bag. In it was recipes of all kinds of different foods to cook.
Gramabear knew Mommabear liked to cook new and different things.
First we took a ruler and made straight lines about two inches from the edge of the cardboard for a border.
The next thing we did was start to sort out some of the recipies we were going to use.
I wanted to use only things like cakes, pies, cookies, and candies, but Gramabear said we should also use things we could eat at dinner.
The next thing we did was glue them on the cardboard in all different directions.
This was the best part of the picture, we had alot of fun doing it.
Now it was time for the border. I was wondering what we would use when Gramabear took another box of the
treasure bag and opened it up.
There were pictures of pots and pans cooking things, bowls of vegetables, fruits, nuts, flour, salt shakers, sugar, and a lot more.
What a wonderful border these thing made. The last thing we put on was a picture of an old fashioned stove,
we put it on the bottom in the center of the border.
What a wonderful surprise it will make for MommaBear's birthday.
Being sick sure can be fun!
