South Sea Island Meatballs - from Eve

1 lb. ground beef
1 cup soft bread crumbs
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. black pepper
1/4 cup chopped onion
3 tsp. soy sauce
1/2 cup milk
1/4 cup sugar
1 1/2 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 tsp. ground ginger
1 cup pineapple juice
2 Tbsp. vinegar
1 Tbsp. butter

Combine ground beef, crumbs, salt, pepper, onion, 2 tsp. of the soy sauce and milk. Form into balls, using about 2 Tbsp. of the mixture for each. Place meatballs in shallow baking pan and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes, or until brown. Combine sugar, cornstarch and ginger. Add pineapple juice, vinegar, remaining soy sauce and butter. Cook this over low heat until thickened, stirring constantly. Heat and serve over meatballs. Have picks nearby.
