Pralines - from Donna

1 1/2 cup white sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 stick butter or oleo
1/2 cup evaporated milk
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups whole pecans
pinch of salt

Cook sugar, salt and milk to a rolling boil. Add butter and let remain on fire until butter melts. Remove from fire and beat until it begins to thicken. Add nuts and vanilla. Drop by teaspoonfuls onto waxed paper. If it gets too hard to drop, return to fire and re-melt.
