Old Fashioned Fruit Cake - from Robert & wife

1/2 lb. candied cherries
1/2 lb. candied pineapple
1/2 lb. dates
1 lb. mixed fruit
1 box golden raisins
1 cup bourbon
6 eggs
1/2 lb. margarine
1 large jar peach or apricot preserves
1 cup sugar
2 1/2 cups flour
4 cups pecans
1 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. allspice

Cut cherries in half. Cut pineapple and dates into small pieces. Add raisins. Set aside. Beat eggs slightly and set aside also. Cream butter and sugar. Add preserves, eggs and spices to this. Stir in bourbon and beat in flour. Add fruit and nuts. Mix well. Bake in a tube pan, which you have lined with waxed paper, for 4 hours at 250.
