The P.B.G.V. origin is that of a rustic breed. His coat texture is harsh and thick. He sheds little due to coarseness of the coat. He is not to be stripped, clipped or trimmed for show purposes. However, in saying that, some grooming is necessary. The natural, unkempt appearance is part of the breed charm. Your dog can look quite the perfect picture following a grooming session, but frustrated owners will tell you that one shake from the little hound and it's all over!
