Your great-grandfather John Scheckel just happens to be my husband -Gerald Scheckel- Great-Great-grandfather. I have been researching the Scheckel's for a few years now and like you discovered one of the other families that I too believe is connected wit ours, but unfortunately have been unable to prove it as well. I would gladly correspond to exchange information and possibly fill in some blanks. I was intrigued to know that I was not the only one who thought this, as well as finding someone else who s researching the Scheckel's.

Peter Scheckel married to Mary Schreiner was my great, great grandfather. Mathias Scheckel was my great grandfather married to Catherine Monner (sic Mormer). Arnold Scheckel was married to Clara Steines,my grand parents. Arnold had a brother Herman and no a sister Clara. There were 16 children. Arnold had 10, my mother was the oldest. If you want any of this info let me know. I found the connection between Matt Scheckel married to Catherine Regenvether and Mathias Scheckel married to Catherine Monner whos parents were John Monner and Elizabeth Regenwether.
