Natiave American Crafts
Below are my first two Native American craft projects. Notice the Hatchet is made exactly as the Native Americans made them in the past years.
Peace Pipe
Tobacco was never smoked for Pleasure. The plant was sacred and carefully grown under ceremonial conditions. When the pipe is lit, it's smoke carries upward uniting the powers of the Sky and the Earth. It's a bond of harmony between the physical and the spiritual acting as a symbol of "Peace and Friendship". Traders always carried their pipes with them which guaranteed their safety, and smoked before any trade took place to bring the parties together in peace and fair trading. All tribes used mature tobacco as an agent for purification and to seal bonds of fiendships. Once the pipe had been smoked, the smoker was naturally bound by a sacred oath to refraim from acts of violence. Even an enemy tribe respected these constraints, and a pipe bearer could enter any village unharmed.
