My HTML Tags "Cheat Sheet"

This is my "cheat sheet" I use while working on my wep pages. I'm new to web building and I find this cheat sheet helpful. I hope it can help others like it has me.

HTML
Hyper Text Markup Language;Instructs software programs how to present document structure.

tags
HTML codes marked by the < and > signs.

html /html
Begins and ends any HTML document, clearly identifying it as such.

head /head
Contains header information. Comments or notes you don't want displayed with the res of the page. The most important item to place in the header is the "title" tags.

title /title
The official Title of the page. The text of title tag is displayed in the title bar.

body /body
The meat of any web page.

H1 /H1
Heading Tags:enclosed headlines and sublines.H1 is the largest font,H6 is the smallest font.

H1 align=center /H1
To center a headline place "align=middle" in opening tag.

P
Paragraph;tells browser to start a new line, leaving a blank line.

img src="image.gif"
IMAGE TAG, use to place graphics on page;Use quotation marks around the path or image.

br
Line break:Tells browser to begin new line without leaving a space.Use a BR tag after an image.

stronge /strong
Character formatting.

B /B
BOLD text

em /em
Character formatting;bold, italic text.

i /i
Italic text

HR
Creates a horizontal rule(bar), a line that extends across the web page.

address /address
Insert author's name and address and often th revision date of the page. Be sure to end each line with a br.

ALT
Lets you type text descriptions of your pictures.

Example:img src="abclogo.gif" alt="ABC Accounting Service".
