You were Daddy's little Princess,
and still you're Mama's girl
Back on Easter Sunday's porch,
your golden locks in curl
You watched out for your sister Ruth,
the same for brothers too
Sharing love so freely given,
always a part of you.
That love has blossomed into our sons,
who hold your heart and mine
You've given so freely of your life,
to all of us in time.
I still remember the day I left,
not knowing I'd see you still
I guess I've never returned from 'Nam
Some say I never will.
No matter the dreams and agony,
you've stood by me every way
You've given so freely of yourself,
It's time for just your day.
Today you've made us all so proud,
A Masters done so well
The time and effort that it entailed,
too lengthy here to tell.
A simple word of congradulations,
today just will not do
And I can't say it to your face,
without a tear or two.
So on this page for all to see,
I'd like them all to hear,
That you're my wife
And still a Princess
Your Dad
today is near.
