Julie Ann Kenkel:
First child of James L. Kenkel and Katherine A. Molleran

Julie Ann was born on <> at <>. She was baptized on in Church on Purdue University Campus, West Lafayette, Indiana. (Sponsors: Uncle Robert Molleran and Aunt JoAnn Kenkel) When she was baptized she wore the gown, that was first worn by her great grandfather John Engelhardt, as well as her grandmother Rita Molleran, her mother Katherine (Molleran, Kenkel) Buczynski, and eventually her son as well. Julie received First Holy Communion and Confirmation in St. Winifred Church in Mr. Lebanon, PA, near Pittsburgh PA.

Most of her childhood was spent at <> joyfully playing in the large wooded backyard or in the 3 story tree fort built by her father around the swingset. Julie had a very active imagination as a child, and called herself Lucy McGoosie. When relatives came to visit she would spend much of her time playing house and "entertaining" her guests in the bathroom. Thus, her relatives, mainly her father, would call her Lucy.

She was an avid softball player - the neighborhood kids would routinely meet in the front yard where her father Jim would pitch to them and they tried to hit the ball over the fence to the water tower across the street - and began playing while in fourth grade at Julia Ward Howe elementary school. She played on the high school team for two years, the traveling team in both junior and senior high (6 years) and then in the pay to play league from fourth grade to her senior year. She continued playing in adulthood, joining a co-ed team in Washington DC, where she played first base until the birth of her son.

She was in the Sigma Kappa sorority in college at Indiana University in Bloomington Indiana. Spring break of her sophomore year she and her mother spent the week in Yugoslavia; visiting the cities of Mostar, Medejoria, and Dubrovnic (which was partially shelled in the Serbo-Croatioan war in 1991/94) The summer she was accepted to the Encounter Ireland program to study at Trinity College in Dublin Ireland. She spent June traveling through Ireland and taking classes. She spent the remaining 2 months backpacking through Europe, staying in Youth Hostels or sleeping in Trains and train stations. Julie visited London, Amsterdam, Munich, Cannes, Paris and Copenhagen. She visited Paris again during break her junior year with several sorority sisters.

Julie graduated from Indiana University <> with a double major in Economics and (Honors) English and moved to Washington DC to work for the Bureau of Labor Statistics, in the Department of Labor.

She later received a Masters in Economics from the George Washington University in Washington D.C.

Julie was a vivacious and talkative person who generally had a smile for everyone. She was well known for her smile, which would engulf her whole face making her eyes unrecognizable, and her cheery attitude. She was passionately pro-life, and almost equally passionate about breastfeeding, and other "infant" issues. She always wanted a large family, and loved having a baby in her arms.

Julie loved hockey, rainy days, and being outside. She loved to go hiking and camping (although she wasn't particularly found of the truly basic back-country dig your own bathroom camping).

I suppose I should write a note about my romance with my husband, but he doesn't particually want to be online here so I'll only say that I'm married and we currently have two of the most adorable toddlers known to earth.

Their children are:
Special Pumpkin

Darling Precious Angel Baby

Mars the Stealth Baby!
