Going to try to punch this out! I’ve been super super busy at work, and consequently when I get home I don’t want to do anything that involves thinking. And being 7 some months pregnant I never want to do anything that involves moving!
General Stuff: Note – date for the baptism is set for August 8. This seems to work for everyone involved. Caps made it into the playoffs. Now, I’ve been feeling poorly, and the house is destroyed. So I really wasn’t in the mood to spend a night outside of the house. Well, at 9 Friday morning John calls and is all excited, “Babe! Babe! There’s still tickets left to the game! Let’s go!” And I’m thinking, where do I get a sitter for tonight at 9am? More than that – there is just no way I’m allowing another human being in this house. And I don’t want to go. . . well, John is obviously so into this I decide to give it a try and ask my neighbor Sharon to watch JD (Hey, we’ll just bring his crib over there so you don’t even need to leave the comfort of your own home. . ) and believe it or not she says yes. So, off John and I go to the game. (Note: in absolute last row of arena AGAIN!) Caps lead the game 2 – 0 well into the 3rd period. Then in the final minute went down 3 to 2. When the Bruins scored with about a minute left John asked if I wanted to head home, since I didn’t want to get run over by the other hoards. However, I was just that very minute thinking how impressed I was that none of the fans were leaving. . . so in the final seconds we pulled our goalie and (Unbelievable!) in the final 25 seconds tie it up and go to overtime. Meanwhile – I’ve told Sharon, oh yeah, we’ll be home by 11. At 10:15 – half way through the first overtime we decided to leave. The Caps lost in double OT as we pulled in the driveway! Anyway, the super funny part of this story is that JD figured out how to get out of his port-a-crib! Ack. So Sharon and Bill got out a baby gate to lock him in a room and basically let him run wild it there to go to sleep. Boy did John and I feel really stupid! (Thank goodness this didn’t happen 3 weeks ago in JoAnn’s house, which would have been a disaster!) Luckily Sharon and Bill thought it was pretty funny, and we ended up staying there till past midnight chatting. They wouldn’t take money so we bought them a gift certificate. Oh yeah, JD usually gets up around 6:15 – the next morning he slept in until 9! Birthday:Went to Cincinnati for Easter / celebrate my and JD’s birthday. Lots of fun. JD loves people and loves being the center of attention. Only negative is my father taught JD to play in the street. . .”But Julie, it’s the best place to roll the ball!” Ah, the joys of relatives! I also got to see my great buddy Juli Kozicki (Used to be Juli Church, my roommate in the sorority) She lives up in Indy, and drove to Cincinnati so we could do some shopping and hang out. We talk every day by e-mail, so it wasn’t a huge deal to talk – more fun to actually see each other! She’s 4 mos pregnant herself. John and I went to Blackwater Falls W. VA with Mom and Buck in mid-April. Again, lots of fun. JD had a blast outside, and went bonkers over all the Deer. The falls were really pretty – and JD loves water. He was quite annoyed when we left. He would point back and yell “water!” He doesn’t “hike” well, so John ended up carrying him. New Baby: New baby is fine. Had to go have my uterus measured the other day (31 inches, which is right on target, maybe this baby won’t be so big) which involved a bit of poking and prodding. Anyway, the nurse was amazed at how low I am carrying – which is what I’ve been telling everyone all along! So nice to know I’m not crazy! Due date is June 20, and my last day at work is June 10. Then I’m off till Nov. 1! Can’t wait. JD: had his two year appointment the same day. He’s 34 pounds and over 37 inches tall. So he’s off the chart for height and weight again. His two year molars are coming in, so he’s drooling like an infant and wants his teething toys back. Everyone kept telling me (a) what a great natured little kid he is and (b) “My lord he had big feet!” I have to laugh at that second one – I have this adorable kid with a great smile and the first damn thing anyone ever notices is his feet! Things are great with the other little kids in the neighborhood. The 2 five year old girls seem to “gang” up now and then on 9 year-old Jamie. Taking pity on him one day I asked him to weed the side garden for 5 bucks. (He did a so-so job. I don’t think he got the concept of pulling up the roots, but at least the garden looks good for now) Boy was Jamie happy. He had something to do, made money, and the girls couldn’t torment him any more. Even better, his little brother Kenny is his constant companion. So I said, make sure you ask your mom (His mom is like NEVER outside watching them. Odd) if Kenny can come in my backyard. So instead of sitting in their front yard, I got to sit in a chair in my own back yard watching JD and Kenny chase each other down the slide. Ah, I love my life. Job: Super busy. I’m now on the QWL library planning committee. What Mike doesn’t realize about QWL is that managers put people that are interested, but more importantly, people that have free time on these committees. They want a commitment of at least 4 hours a week. Mike didn’t get it – I said, “Mike, 4 hours is 6 percent of my work week!!” And I’m on a sub group with this guy (Fran) who must have TONS of free time. He wants to meet constantly! Argh. So this is sucking up huge amts of my time. Also, the press release is in its final stages, Mike wants me to finish procurement before I leave, and our one SUN system crashed. I keep asking god to send me into labor any day now so I can just ignore everything. (Several of these crisis's have occurred because people think that 9 months is actually longer than it is.) Hello people – you have 17 of my working days to finish projects. Lets get organized here and deal with it. Well, my back hurts from sitting here, and John needs help installing our new mantle!
