For those of you who don’t know this, Buck & I went to visit Julie & John and the kids last weekend. We actually went there to babysit the kids while they went to a wedding (they were gone for about 12 hours and that would have been too expensive to hire a sitter.) Fortunately it was a beautiful day Saturday because JD wanted to go outside right away. He grabbed his big wheel and headed down the street. His buddy Kenny, who is almost 4, was riding his big wheel. They ran into each other head on. I would have been horrified had not Tim and his buddy spent the entire summer going down our driveway only to crash into the other one at the bottom. We had a great day playing different games. JD and Kenny had some long plastic tubes they were yelling through so I called them elephants. Amanda, about 8 years old became a lion who stalked the elephants. The kids wanted me to join the game so I became the elephant who stepped on lions. At this point all the kids were lions. Katie was sitting on a large blanket (which was home base for the animals being chased) having a great time just taking it all in.
At dinner time JD didn’t want to eat so Buck made his fork into an airplane and zoomed around putting the food into his own mouth. JD made his fork an airplane and loved zooming his fork and food around putting his food into his own mouth. (He ate an entire package of frozen broccoli himself) Buck and I and JD were laughing, so Katie chimed in and was laughing out loud with a HA HA HA not a cute little baby laugh. That made Buck and I laugh until we had tears in our eyes which made the kids laugh even harder.
