On Friday, February 12, 1999, Debi, I, Dave and Formia Bretzke drove to Paris for the weekend. It only took about 3 ½ to 4 hours to drive there. The drive was uneventful except for the crazy French tolls on the highway every little while. The total in tolls was about $25 each way. We had to purchase gas in France and so our total cost was about $125 round trip for all four of us.

We went to the Paris USO and bought our boat tickets and museum passes. We then bummed around Paris, went up the Eiffel tower and ate at the Hard Rock Cafe of Paris.

On Saturday we met at the Sacré Coeur, visited the starving artists market and then visited some sights. We concluded with a boat ride through Paris and dinner at a French cafe.

On Sunday we drove out to the Palace of Versailles. It was a wonderful day capped off with our Valentine's Day dinner at TGI Fridays of Paris.

On Monday we toured the Louvre and Invalides museums. There was so much to see and do, we will have to return and complete those things we didn’t get to do or see. We really wanted to visit the other museums, but many are closed on Monday. The trip home was again delightful.

It was a wonderful Valentine's weekend in Paris!
