In March 2001, Debi and I took Sarah Elkins, the daughter of our Bishop in San Antonio and her friend Sharon, from San Antonio to Switzerland. We traveled straight to the Alps and stayed overnight in a Bed and Breakfast run by an LDS family near Brienz.

The weather was terrible, it was raining and gloomy. However, the forecast was good for the next day. We kept our fingers crossed.

The next morning we woke to a glorious picture postcard day, high in the Alps from our little Swiss Chalet Bed and Breakfast. It was breathtaking.

We then drove over to Lauterbrunnen and then rode the train up the mountain to Murren and then the Cable Car up to the Shilthorn. Yes, Debi with all her fears of heights and moving things under her feet conqured all and she rode the longest LuftSeilBahn (Cable Car) in the world to the 10,000 foot high mountain overlooking the top of the Swiss Alps.

It was a beautiful, warm, clear day and we all really enjoyed it.
