Heigh-ho, heigh-ho . . .
During spring break, 46 teens and adult chaperones of the Junior/Senior High Youth Group of the Presbyterian-New England Congregational Church in Saratoga Springs traveled to Washington, D.C., where they helped residents in the capital's depressed northeast neighborhoods fix up their homes. Work included putting in new ceilings, doors, windows, floors -- whatever was needed. The teens partnered for this project with Christmas in April, a national organization that specializes in the rehabilitation of homes in poor areas of major cities.
Adult chaperones on the trip were Charles Bearce, Marilyn Dockum, the Rev. Jay F. Ekman, Gene Gardner, the Rev. Tony Green, Dan Larkin, Shelly Larkin, Gordon Litke, Deb Madden, Grover Rose, Chuck StevwArt, M . George Van Deusen and Dave Wood.
