Pvt. Maynard Cunningham, second youngest of Mr. Cunningham's sons in the armed forces, is at present at the Walter Reed hospital in Washington, D.C. He entered the army in June 1942 and was with the famed 69th infantry division. He rose to the rank of sergeant but later volunteered for the army special training program and when he took up his work he again automatically became a private. Pvt. Cunningham attended the university of Maryland, College Park, Maryland, until his entrance to the hospital last November. Prior to his induction young Cunningham was employed at the Cunningham Body and Fender works in Wilson. He is also a graduate of the Wilson high school and was one of the popular young men of that community.
