THE CONSTITUTION
OF THE UPPER DUNCAN CREEK CHURCH

Later Renamed Langston Baptist Church
We the Baptist Church of Upper Duncans Creek holding an opinion of guilty original sin by the fall, Justification by the imputed righteousness of Christ, Final perserverance of the saints in grace. The Resurrection of the dead, and eternal Judgement. Believing in Baptism by immersion.

Rule 1.  Members are received in our fellowship union by experience, by unanious voice, and also by letter.

Rule 2.  Each member to attend church meetings once a month and on neglect of church meeting twice is liable to be called to an account for non-attendance especially the males.

Rule 3.  The Minister is moderator in all church meetings except in case of absense the church is at liberty to choose another; and also except the church shall think otherwise.

Rule 4.  All business to be done by the unanimous voice of the whole that are present, except in cases that the church agree to act by majority.

Rule 5.  It seems agreeable to the word of God the Deacons duty is to collect from the hand of the church according to their several ability for the support of the gospel and expense of the communion table and the necessities of the poor.

Rule 6.  No member shall move out of the bounds of the church without first applying to the church for dismission or leave church meeting without consent of the church.

Rule 7.  All members present at sacramental seasons shall take their seats unless some matter of dealing which is unsettled prevents.

Rule 8.  Any testimony may be heard against a member of our church but the church to be their own judge of the same.

Rule 9.  Members who have been suspended or excommunicated by the church they giving satisfactory evidence of their repentance are to be received into full fellowship with the church.

Rule 10. Each member is to abstain from evil company as much as their temporal concerns will admit of.

Rule 11. We do believe that their is a sabbath day that should be kept holy distinct from any other day.

Rule 12. A member having a motion to make to the church shall rise to speak.
