a Will of John LANGSTON dated 1 March 1782 who deceased in Greenville County
SC, but having sold the tract to procure a tract of land (639 acres by
grant dated 14 June 1784) and land at his death involving his heir at law
or eldest son, I by these presents & consideration aforesaid (the legacy
Negro), have bargained, sold & etc., unto Solomon LANGSTON of Laurens
County SC a certain tract of land mentioned aforesaid and lying & being
in the County of Greenville & State aforesaid, containing six hundred

Mary Mcclanahan, in trust for the children of John McClanahan deceased,
a tract of 44 acres lying on the waters of the Reedy River, in Greenville
County SC it being a part of a tract of 639 acres of land granted John
Langston deceased on 14 Jun. 1784, of which the said Solomon LANGSTON became
lawful and legal representative of, through a suit in the Court of Greenville
District. /s/ Solomon (S) LANGSTON Witnesses: Solomon LANGSTON, Jr.
and Basdell (X) Wheat Sworn to and subscribed as follows: "SOUTH CAROLINA,
GREENVILLE DISTRICT: Personally came Solomon LANGSTON, Jr. of Greenville
District before me the subscribing Justice and being duly sworn sayeth
on his oath that he was present and did see Solomon LANGSTON, Sr.
assign his seal and as his act and deed deliver the within deed of conveyance
for the reason and purpose within mentioned and that Basdell Wheat together

Solomon LANGSTO
{sic}of Laurens County SC, for 10 pds Paid him by Jechonias LANGSTON, Jr.
deeds to James LANGSTON, that tract of 100 acres of land whereon his mother
now lives. It being a part of 640 (639) acres (owned by John LANGSTON at
his death then going to James LANGSTON in lieu of a negro boy willed him
by his father) conveyed by James LANGSTON to Solomon LANGSTON (in exchange
for the negro). /s/Solomon LANGSTON, Senr. Witnesses: John Brown and John
Stiles. Recorded Jan. 1797 (The deed above and that of Deed Book K, Pg.
65 Greenville County, SC Records --- both are in re to the same parcel
of land that formerly was John LANGSTON'S next it belonged to his son Solomon
LANGSTON, Senr., and next it was his sonSolomon LANGSTON, Jun's. Subsequently
we see this same land being deeded to Pink Hawkins Junr., and said document
is signed by Solomon LANGSTON, Junr., and his wife Hannor LANGSTON.
