Laurens District

In the name of God, Amen.

I Isaac Gray of the District and State afouresaid, being weake in body, but of sound and disposing mind, memory, and understanding, do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following to wit.

I direct my executors to have my body decently buried out of my estate.

Secondly, I give and bequeath unto my daughter Salley Roundtree one hundred dollars an her shair of my real and personal estate.

Thirdly, I give and bequeath and devise unto John Taylor his heirs and assigns forever in trust, for the use and purpose herein after mentioned to wit. One tract of land whereon I now live containing one hundred and fifty acres adjoining lands belonging to Thomas Farley and Salley Fowler and the heirs of Aberham Gray, also all my household and kitchen furniture. Also all my stock of horses, cows, sheep, hogs, likewise all my corn, fadder, wheate, rye, barley, and oats together with all the meat and crop which may be growing at the time of my death.
 

Also one negro boy named Bob intrust, first for the soul and separate purpose of Wm. ground daughter of Jenney Gray during her natural life free from and without the persolal of her husband John Gray and without the impachment of wate.

Secondly, after the death of my said grand daughter, Jenney intrust for her children to be equally dividend between them shair and shair alike.

And do in like manner give and bequeath to the new waggon and geers belonging to it to my said grand daughter Jinney Gray.


Forthly, I give and bequeath unto my grand daughter Eliza Gray one negro girl named Hopey.

Fifthly, I give and bequeath to my grand daugher Bathiah Meadows, the wife of Thomas Meadows her heirs and assigns, one negro boy named Adom.

Sixthly, I did hive to Aberham Gray three hundred dollars to purchase a negro for my grand daugher Mahla Merideth with which sum the said Aberham Gray did purchase for her a negro, which I intend as a full shair of my estate.

Seventhly, I give and bequeath all the rest residue and remainder of my estate of every kinds what kind so ever the same may be to  my grand children Lesley Gray, Melepa Taylor, the wife of John Taylor, Tallison Gray, Josina Gray, Polaskey Gray, Abelina Gray, Mekena Gray, Madison Gray, and Archer Gray, there heirs and assigns for ever to be equally divided between them, shair and shair alike.

Lastly, I nominate constitute and appoint my friend John Taylor my soul exector to this my last will and testament. And I do hereby revoke disanul all wills heretofore by me made, and do hereby rattify this as my last will and testament. 

Signed, sealed, and acknowledge in our presence this the twenty sixth day of March, in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and twenty nine.
