Gideon Gibson was born March 2, 1764 in Cumberland Co., PA, and died 1843 in Armstrong Co., PA. Gideon may be a s/o a William Gibson (bef. 1717-1771). Gideon married Abigail Coulter Crawford in 1804.

Pvt. Gideon Gibson served as a frontier ranger from Bedford Co., in Captain John Moore's Company, which defended Moore Fort 1779-1781. He applied for a pension which was allowed in 1834.
