Mary Elizabeth Day, 73, of Florence, died at 6:18 p.m. Wednesday at her home. She was a homemaker and member of St. Paul Church in Florence and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Knights of St. John. Her husband, Joseph Day, and a daughter, Jean Sue Day, both preceded her in death. Survivors include daughters, Therese "Sis" VandeGeer of Suffolk, Va., Ginny Brookover of Taylor Mill, Patricia Bevis and Nancy Day, both of Covington; sons, Thomas Day of Bromley, Daniel Day of Edgewood and Timothy "Butch" Day of Taylor Mill; a sister, Margaret Dupree of Verona; brothers, Buddy Schwabe of Highland Heights, Clem Schwabe Jr. of Union and Joe Schwabe of Florence; 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Church, Florence. Burial will be in St. Stephen Cemetery, Fort Thomas. Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 3704, Memphis, Tenn. 38173; or Salvation Army, 340 W. 10th St., Newport, Ky. 41071. Middendorf-Bullock Funeral Home, Covington, is handling arrangements.
