Pierre and his wife Catherine did quite well because by the census of 1671 they had 15arpents of land in cultivation, six head of cattle and five sheep.By1686 he had 14 cattle, 21 sheep, eight pigs and a gun. This wealth landed them in the middle class of the colony. By 1698 he was cultivating 25arpents with 14 cattle, 5 sheep, 7 swine, and a gun. He had the 2nd largest fruit orchard totaling 150 trees. In 1701 he gave 15 arpents to his son Charles as a wedding gift.
