Her birthdate is imputed from Massignot (FC&A Rev, Vol 2, pp 19-31) who found the baptism date in the parish registers of La Chaussee(Loudunais) 'a village which was part of the seigniory of Charles deMenou d'Aulnay, governor of Acadia (1635-1650)'. Her godfather was Vincent Brault.
He arived from France in Acadia around 1663 (Arsenault, Vol 2, page 500). In the 1678 census of Port Royal, he and Marie Godet (sic) were living at St. Christoffe at the Sainte Marie Brook. They had four acres, six cattle, six boys the oldest 12 years old (born in 1666) and two girls, the oldest 2 years old (born in 1676).
